Here is one of my all time top tips for these soaring temperatures and particularly when it’s so warm overnight too, for those of us without air conditioning. I often use this in the car too as I do not have any air con apart from the windows!
I keep a cold block handy from the freezer and wrap it in a damp cloth so the cloth is lovely and cool too. Obviously care to maybe keep all on a towel or similar, so as not to spoil any furniture.
These cool cloths and blocks are just divine when it gets a bit too warm for comfort. I find them around the neck and on upper chest is really lovely.
They are particularly useful for those mid life hot flushes too.
I understand that cold wet towels and helpful for our warm pets too, for them to choose to sit or lay on if they wish, so it’s the same theory I guess. I have noticed one of our cats choosing to sleep on the cool tiled floor on warm nights.
