All of the head massage moves are great at helping with brain fog, because they improve concentration and help with clear thinking.
Following on from the previous posts around head massage, here are a couple of stimulating moves which you can alternate with the soothing stroking ones. By using all the moves you can create a five minute routine to use whenever you need it.
With fingers wide apart on the scalp make a gentle plucking type movement, moving around the scalp to different areas and maybe introduce a little tapping or piano playing type movement on the scalp too.
Then moving the scalp from side to side by either sliding open fingers into the hair close to the scalp, closing them then making small movements to move the scalp (note the hair should not feel like it is being pulled uncomfortably) or alternatively with the flat part of the fingers between the knuckles on a hand made into a fist, press gently against the head and move the scalp side to side (better for short hair or bald heads). Do this move all around the scalp. Notice how different the areas feel that have been worked in this way, compared to those still to be worked.
Many people report increased clarity of mind from doing the head massage moves, either immediately after and sometimes for a few days. These are great to do say the day before if you know you need to concentrate on something such as an exam as they will not only relax you but help with feeling clearer headed.
These are all stimulating moves which will really get the blood flowing to the head.
If you have unstable blood pressure, please take care with amount of stimulating moves. Though massage ultimately can reduce blood pressure, the increase in circulation may increase it temporarily which could be an issue if your blood pressure is unstable or not controlled. Massage of the head area is contraindicated for anyone with epilepsy. Please seek medical attention if you are concerned about headache symptoms.
